2021 Ford F-150 Axle Availability

For the 2021 F-150 there are 4 non-limited slip axle options and 3 electronic-locking axle options to choose from.

Non limited slip axles
  • The 3.15 (X15) axle is standard on F-150's with the 5.0L V8, 4X2 drivetrain and all wheelbases
  • The 3.31 (X27) axle is standard on F-150s with the 5.0L V8, 4X4 drivetrain and all wheelbases, the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost (4X4 & 4X2) and all wheelbases, and the 3.0L diesel engine (4X2 & 4X4) with the 145 and 157 inch wheelbases
  • The 3.55 (X19) axle is standard on F-150s with the 3.3L V6 (4X4 & 4X2) with the 122, 141, and 125 inch wheelbases, the 2.7L V6 (4X2) with all wheelbases, and the 2.7L V6 (4X4) with the 122, 141, and 145 inch wheelbases.
  • The 3.73 axle (X26) is standard and optional on F-150s with the 3.3L V6 (4X4 & 4X2) with the 122, 141, and 145 inch wheelbases.

Electronic-locking axles
  • The 3.31 axle (XL3) is an optional/packaged option on F-150s with the 5.0L V8 (4X4 & 4X2) and all wheelbases, the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost (4X4 & 4X2) with all wheelbases, and the 3.0L diesel engine (4X4 & 4X2) on 145 and 157 inch wheelbases.
  • The 3.55 axle (XL9) is standard on the F-150 hybrid (4X2) with 145 and 157 inch wheelbases and optonal/packaged option on all F-150s except ones with the 5.0L V8.
  • The 3.73 axle (XL6) is standard on the F-150 hybrid (4X4) with the 145 and 157 inch wheelbases and optional/packaged option on all F-150s except ones with the 3.0L diesel engine.
