There have rumors out for a while no that there will be a hybrid version of the new F-150. But now we have proof that not only is it happening, it will come with a 3.5L V6 engine.

I came across this chart that has a bunch of information about the new F-150. In the middle section that shows the different engines, you can see it says "3.5L HEV V-6" and that it has "Electric" Fuel. Unfortunately it doesn't say how much horsepower the engine will have.

Interesting. I thought the Hybrid model was going to be a part of the next-gen truck, but it looks like it'll be a version of the current platform.
Fascinating. These VIN decoders are going to be especially useful to reference years from now when looking at used F-150 on a dealer lot. You could use this post to know exactly what you are looking at, and confirm that the used truck is listed and described accurately. I wish this data was more widely available for other makes and models.

It would also be prudent for all new F-150 owners to double-check their VIN reflects what they ordered! Imagine if the window sticker says one thing but the VIN revealed the factory built something else!

It looks like the F-150 Hybrid will only have 10 miles of EV range according to Ford Authority. I know it's not meant to be a prius but it does seem like a let down.

I totally expect this is correct. For them to add in a hybrid element to an old platform like this... there's no way it was going to be anything amazing.

Hopefully they bump that number a bit for future versions.
