Just made my 2022 F150 Lightning RESERVATION. Did NOT want to be a few days LATE like I was with the Bronco! Now I'm waiting for both the Bronco AND the Lightning! I'm sure the bronco will be here first. With the Sasquatch package on the Bronco, I need to SAVE some fuel, so the LIGHTNING IT IS! Longtime F150 owner. I have owned 2 all electric cars, a 2012 Ford Focus, all electric and a Mitsubishi I-miev. Both had ranges under 100 miles...and still had no range anxiety after the first few weeks. WELCOME! I will have to see what the models offer and the PRICE! Jim Farley DID say this morning on squackbox.....they have OVER 20,000 reservations in the FIRST 12 hours.
That's pretty nuts, but makes sense with how good the pricing is. With the base at $39,974 before tax credits and the XLT at $52,974 it's a pretty great deal but also a sizeable gap for features between the two trims.

After, presumably, some tax credits from the feds, I would probably pop for the XLT. I have a 4 door base Bronco with sasquatch on order right now. I am hoping it arrives by fall. This will balance out my fuel economy from the Bronco! As someone who has owned (2) all electric cars, the ford focus and the I-miev, I know how CHEAP they are to maintain and run.

I reserved the Lightning as well. Does anyone know what the reservation number started at? I assume Im low enough as I reserved w/i 15 minutes of the opening, but I missed the boat on the Bronco. Which is fine as I want a manual with the SAS package.

My concern is we dont know how many more tax credits Ford has. Between all the Mach-E sales, previous qualifying vehicles (Focus Energi, C-Max), they may run out afte the first run of Lightning.

Im sure Im OK, but I doubt Ford has them for long.

Welcome @DesertLightning

What is your reservation number and what information did Ford give you so far?

At this this time last year they had 75,000 credits left.
Can you ask your dealer what the numbers are like? There's a good chance they'll know.

All I did to reserve was sign up for a Ford account (name, address, phone) and pay the $100. I'll ask my dealer. I doubt they sell 75,000 Mach-E's, but they probably sold half that. Not much left for the Lightning. I heard rumors they only expect to be able to produce 80K trucks, and they will sell all of them.

Congratulations @DesertLightning! Welcome to the forum!

When Ford released their Q1 2021 sales numbers it shows they sold 6,614 Mach-Es. You should be in a good spot with the tax credit.

Reservation holder here, I put one in the night of it's debut and I'm 31k+. Wish I'd been quicker on the draw.
I put my reservation in the day after the announcement. Not sure how to tell where I am in line, or even if the reservations are sequential. Any ideas?
Congrats on the reservations guys! Which trim level are you planning on getting?

@jifka It's hard to say how Ford is going to do this. IIRC I don't think it was sequential with the Mustang Mach-E.

Thanks!
Honestly I'm not sure what's available on all of the trim levels as options. I like the Lariat options with extended range battery, but if I can go ala carte with a few options on the XLT we'll see. It also depends on pricing. XLT is supposed to be $53k and Platinum is up to $90k. No idea what the Lariat base price is. Has anything been found? It would be a tough sell for me to pick the Lariat if it's $70k+. It makes it less attractive than a Tesla...tho the Tesla truck styling is flat out ugly.

XLT > Lariat on the gas-powered F150 looks like about a $6750 difference. If that's the case with the Lightning, a Lariat would come in at $60k. That's as high as I'd probably go on this purchase.
