Twitter is buzzing right now of news that Ford is building a new Dearborn facility for the electric F-150 and that production is expected to start next year.
Ford is constructing a new facility adjacent to its Dearborn, Michigan, truck plant to build an electric version of the F-150 and prototype production is expected to start next year , Keith Naughton of Bloomberg reports, citing people familiar with the project. Ford also will idle and overhaul its Missouri pickup factory in October to prepare for the redesigned truck when it temporarily shuts down its Dearborn plant for two weeks of retooling starting September 7, sources told Bloomberg.
