I’m in the process of building a new Lariat super crew long bed with 502a, max tow and fx-4 plus a few other options. The max tow jumps from 18” to 20” wheels and tires. However, the spare remains an 18” tire and wheel. Several dealers have yet to explain why or offer a solution. In the event of a flat tire, it would seem unsafe at worst and unwise at best to cruise down the road with an unmatched tire/wheel arrangement. To do so while towing a camper sounds like a disaster in the making. Anyone else find this issue or better yet solve it?

A 20" spare might be the solution.
Have you asked the dealer or even Ford directly if that's possible?

Welcome @Phjimfitz! If the overall diameter of the 18 inch rim/wheel is the same as the 20 inch wheel then it doesn't matter if the rim size is different. If you're going to reach out to your dealer you might want to double check that with them.
