The folks at TFL Truck broke down all 13 trim levels for the F-150 so you can see how they all compare to each other.

XL – “The Dugout”

This is a basic work truck. It’s where it all starts. It is primarily meant to be a fleet / commercial truck. It has basic headlights, blacked out bumpers, and starts with a 3.3-liter gas V6 and a 10-speed automatic transmission.

XL Chrome – “The HQ”

The next step up the ladder is the XL Chrome trim which does exactly what it says. The visual difference on this XL truck is the addition of chrome components, such as the bumpers.

234

STX – “The Night Hawk”

The STX trim offers much of the same equipment as the XL trucks, but with a sporty monochromatic look, unique grille, and wheels.

235

XLT – “The Guardian”

The XLT is the next step up. The exterior is similar to the XL truck, but the unique grille wears chrome (instead of the black XL grille). There are three wheel options to choose from.

237

XLT Chrome – “The Foreman”

The XLT Chrome adds even more chrome to the grille. The headlights feature the LED signature. The wheel options are different still.

238

XLT Sport – “The Scout”

The XLT Sport is the next step with a sporty look that is similar to the STX, but this trim offers more standard equipment. The headlights add the LED running light signature. The tail lights are updated, and there are two new wheel designs.

Lariat – “The Maven”

Now, we get to the “mid-grade” truck. This is one of the high-volume trim levels for the F-150. This trim initially looks very similar to the XLT, but there are more premium details – such as the body-color side mirrors.

Lariat Chrome – “The Mentor”

Naturally, Lariat Chrome takes the bright-work to the next level. You can also get chrome wheels on this truck.

241

Lariat Sport – “The Maverick”

The Sport once again is the monochromatic look. It offers two unique wheel designs and premium appearance.

242

King Ranch – “The Legacy”

The King Ranch truck starts with a familiar two-tone paint design. The exterior of this truck is not too flashy, but the interior still offers a heavy doze of Western motif.

King Ranch Chrome – “The Sheriff”

Next up is the King Ranch Chrome edition. The two-tone theme is replaced by chrome exterior accents and a unique “King Ranch” tailgate applique.

244

Platinum – “The Metropolitan”

The “Metropolitan” name suggests the Platinum truck is meant for an urban or sub-urban owner. It has a unique tailgate applique to designate “Platinum”.

245

Limited – “The Icon”

The Limited is once again the very top of the F-150 range. It is the most luxurious, and it does come with the most standard equipments. It rides on 22-inch wheels.
